Wailuku Parking Structure:
The HDCC and subcontractor crews continued with the finishing work on the interior and exterior of the parking structure this week.
Vineyard and Church Street Improvements:
The Hawaiian Electric and Wasa Electric crews completed the conversion of electrical service to underground for properties on Vineyard Street between Church and High Street this week. The Hawaiian Electric crews also completed the removal of the electrical poles on Vineyard Street. Permanent roadway striping work on Church and Vineyard Street also commenced this week. The roadway striping work will continue next week. The roadway striping work will be done at night starting at 8:30 pm to minimize the disruption to traffic. The new traffic signal at the Main and Church Street intersection is scheduled to begin testing next Thursday, July 20 and put into full service on Monday, July 24. Once the traffic signal is put into full operation, Church Street between Main and Vineyard Street will become a two-way street.
General Notices:
Due to the ongoing work on Vineyard Street, motorists and pedestrians should be cautious when traversing through the area. Vineyard Street between Church and High Street will be closed to thru traffic Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
The Wailuku Parking lot is completely closed. Parking is available in various locations, as well as free shuttle service on Da Bee (includes parking at Maui Lani Safeway and Wells Park with various “flower” stops in Wailuku.
